New Sponsorships!!

Sundance is full of activity these days. We are gearing up for a busy spring, and an even busier summer. The company has recently signed numerous contracts to sponsor huge spring/summer events including: three major league baseball teams, a major theme park, and a well-known Midwest zoo.

We hit a home run, by signing THREE of major league baseballs finest teams. The company has recently signed with the Chicago Cubs for their 2008 season, the Milwaukee Brewers for 2008/09 seasons, AND the Philadelphia Phillies for their 2008 season. Ironically, the Brewers play the Cubs on March 31st. This will be a great rival game, so place your bet on who will win!!

The company will sponsor Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Jackson, New Jersey, from May-September 2008. You will be able to find Sundance near the water park or animal safari. Our logo and a web-banner will be seen on the Hurricane Harbor homepage, so make sure you check it out when you order your tickets!!

Sundance Vacations will also sponsor the Milwaukee County Zoo for their Stingray and Shark Reef Exhibit from May-September 2008. The shark and stingray exhibit is one of the main interactive highlights at the zoo. This exhibit is a touching and petting exhibit, and it will be the last year running, so make sure you get a chance to see what the craze is all about!!

What do you think of the sponsorships, any suggestions? Do you have any ideas for other sponsorships? Don’t forget to place your bets on who will win the Cubs/Brewers game. It’s a fun way of starting off the season!!

Sundance is Sponsoring Local Teams

On January 15, 2008, Sundance Vacations signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA.  The arena is managed by SMG, the world leader in entertainment and sports facilities management.  Over 600,000 people attend events at the arena annually.  Sundance is proud to support the local teams and the sponsorship helps the company to establish a strong community presence.  It is important to the Penguins and Pioneers because corporate sponorship helps them to field the most competitive teams as possible.

Are there any teams or events you think we should sponsor?  Or, do you have ideas on other ways the company can do business in your community?  Let us know.

Princeton Supports Local Basketball Team

The Princeton Office of Sundance Vacations came across a local church in need, The Lion of Judah out of Trenton, New Jersey.  They wanted to keep the local children off the street during the summer and away from the gangs and drug activity.  Solution: Start a basketball team! The problem in this economically challenged area?  No shirts, no sneakers, no gym and sadly, no hope.                                                     Img_0983

Sundance stepped up and provided all of the above plus a generous donation, kicking off the season with a free throw contest and trophy’s on 07/07/07. Img_0977_2 Bob DeBord and Ed Coppinger Sr. worked tirelessly to put the event together. Sarah Jarvie, Margot Anglart and Alice Walinski assisted to make the day a fun event. Img_0939 The thank you’s and smiles of the kids made us happy to share with them in their time of need and reminded us to be grateful for all that we have. Also, a thank you to Shane Lewis for his coordination and support.  Img_0945

Sundance Employees Lend A Hand

At the Olde York Street Fair in the beginning of May, our permission marketing staff was on site when a man in his motorcycle tipped over.  The man drives around York daily with his two Bassett Hounds on either side of him.  David Ausem, a staff member based in East Stroudsburg, PA, jumped to action immediately to help out.  Biker_bassett The man, who turned out to be a public figurehead around York, was not seriously injured, but still received as much help as our staff could give him.  David and Rich Tokar stayed with the man, making sure that he was all right, while manager Scott Brunnenmeyer took the dogs home for him.

It’s awesome to know that these three were there to help, and rose to the occasion!

Sundance at Nascar

This past Sunday, I went to the Pocono race with my husband and we had such a good time even though it rained. We went to one of the tents that were giving away samples of all kinds of stuff and while we were in line, a young girl came up to me and asked me if I wanted to sign up for free gas. I looked at the form and it was a Sundance Vacations form. I told her that I worked for Sundance and we talked for a bit and then she went on to someone else. My husband and I went to look around by the souvenir trucks. As soon as we walked in there we saw the Sundance Vacations booth. 100_0881_2 I went over to the booth and with a young man. When I told him that I worked for Sundance, he told me that he was new and really enjoying his job. Our event staff did a great job!

There was so much to see and do. We walked through this truck that was a Jack Daniels tour. At the end of the tour, they took our picture and told me that I could go on line and download our picture. When I did, Clint Bowyer was in the picture with us. I thought that was pretty cool. We also took a tour of Crs1360007_2 Crown Royal. They had a beanbag toss, if you got the beanbag in the hole; you won a prize. Of course we didn’t win. My husband had his picture taken sitting on a throne.
After a 2 1/2 hour rain delay, the race finally got started. 100_0891_2 It was a very good race while it lasted. They got 106 laps in and it had to be stopped because it was raining in turn 1. Unfortunately, Jeff Gordon won (not a fan). My husband is a Ryan Neuman fan and let me tell you, he was not a happy camper. 100_0894_2 Ryan Neuman came in second. I wish our Sundance car was in the race because that would have made it even more exciting for me. Even though I won’t be going to the race in August, I hope that our Sundance Vacations car is in it.

Racers Start Your Engines

It’s that time of year again. RACE TIME!!! NASCAR is coming to town for the Pocono races this weekend and we here at Sundance Vacations are getting ready. It’s nice that we have something big like this happen right in our own backyard. So, our Sundance team is ironing their shirts, packing up the vehicles and getting the Sundance model car ready.  Unfortunately, our Sundance sponsored car will not be in this race, but don’t get down and disappointed yet. We still have one more race this summer for our car to win. That means we have another shot at taking home the trophy. I just want to wish “Good Luck” to the Sundance team and I hope they have a really great time.

A Basketball Team For Us

For the last year or so, a dream of mine was to start a basketball team, a team full of local youths from my area (Shamokin, Pa) and be able to take them to tournaments all over the state, and let them compete versus the best of the best in their age group from other areas throughout.

This past January came around, and I decided that I was going to go after my dream, and in fact, start this team. I started talking to some of the local kids about this idea and they all thought this was a great idea and said how they were looking forward to the chance to play a game that they love.

So I started looking into it a little more, searching for tournaments and so on and so forth, and things really started to move forward. This dream that I had was in fact, becoming a reality.

Getting the kids and finding the tournaments was the easy part, finding the funds to help cover the costs of the team would be the hard part. Paying gym rental fees, tournament entrance fees, uniforms, equipment, since this team would be traveling all over, you also have hotel fees to worry about. Who would be responsible for all these high costs? The kids and their parents? The share each child would have to pay would certainly not be cheap.

In steps the staff of Sundance Vacations, where I work.

While at work one day, on my lunch break, I was looking thru a catalog that had basketball uniforms in it, and my manager Becky noticed it.  We were discussing what ones looked nice and she asked me what I was looking at them for, and I told her about my dream and how I was hoping to start this basketball team, but the costs where just so high, and that I didn’t think that it would be possible.

That’s when she suggested that I try to find a sponsor to help defray some of the costs from the kids.

But who could I ask to help me with this, who really cares about the local youth, and enjoys giving back to the community?

The answer was obvious to the both of us, John and Tina Dowd, the proud owners of Sundance Vacations.

With the help of Becky and a co-worker of mine, Doreen, a letter was typed up and sent up to the corporate office in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Within a few days, I had my response, Sundance Vacations would be more than happy to help with the costs and be my team’s sponsor.

My dream now has come true, as well as the dreams of some local 7th and 8th graders.

Thanks to Sundance Vacations, we now have our basketball team.

And Now, A Word (A Letter, Actually) From Our Sponsee’

Rich,

First, thank you for your support. We are so sorry that we didn’t get to meet you. We did meet Troy Long and had a pretty good time at Moto Rama. Unfortunately, our race results didn’t back that up but we learned alot.

Timothy did a super job getting 3rd in his first race in his new class. Unfortunately, they only transferred 2 to the mains. His car was fighting a push all day but he did such a great job getting through the field. He was passed on the final lap when his car couldn’t stay low enough.

Nicholas was also too tight for the day but was on his way to transferring to the next main when a 2 car pile up forced him into the wall. He was fine but his front axle was bent. Luckily we have time to prepare for our next event !!

We parked the cars basically with your logo facing the main entrance to the quarter midget area. We had a few questions and pointed them to your booth. One of the things that we could improve in the future is to have your materials on hand. This helps explain what Sundance Vacations does in your terms.

As we look at our future events we are scheduling around 15 races and one multiple day race event. We are also scheduled for the Adamstown Childrens’ Festival. Our biggest event may be the Dutch Wonderland Fly, Drive and Ride event 16-17 June. We did get the go ahead to have a table for 17 June and they are expecting 3,000 + kids for that day. We can also have your materials on hand at our table. They may approve your show car being there also.

We’d like to offer you the ability to further sponsor our team. We see the races as the ability to reach 100-150 people at each regular event. The multi-day weekend should have 300+ people in attendance. The Adamstown event, around 100-200 families. The Dutch Wonderland Event should be 3,000 families as it is scheduled in the high point of the vacation time. You will be seen at our special events with Race Against Drugs. We can also arrange for a photographer and news releases if desired.

Thank you so much for your support at Moto Rama. We had a great time racing and the boys got a look at what partnership is about. We look forward to hearing from you,

Kelly Thrasher ~ TNT Motorsports

The driver here is Timothy.  Nick’s car didn’t look too great, so he decided to skip the photo op.  If you notice clearly, Timothy drove the tire off the left front (it’s flat).  One of the disadvantages of the indoor track is we have to guess the set-ups.  We went from a high bank oval to a flat, slick surface.
