The Customer Service Department at Sundance Vacations observed National Customer Service Week from October 5th-9th. The week was full of exciting activities. Two events that recognized Sundance Vacations customers were a blog contest on the Sundance Vacations Travel Blog, and a prize giveaway at each of the seven Sundance Vacations sales offices each night the offices were open during the National Customer Service Week.
The winner for the best customer service experience posted on the Sundance Vacations Travel Blog was Dale Kilian from Princeton, New Jersey. Mr. Kilian picked up his Flip Camera at the Sundance Vacations Princeton office on Saturday, October 10th. Congratulations Dale, we’re very glad that you enjoyed your customer service experience with Sundance Vacations!
We also extend a happy congratulations to all of the customers who visited a Sundance Vacations sales office during the National Customer Service Week and won a gift just for giving us a chance to introduce the wholesale vacation program.
What a successful National Customer Service Week! Do you have any customer service praises that you would like to share?
Sundance Vacations invited five Parent Teacher Organizations to a private showing of the company’s “School Bucks” program at the company’s corporate headquarters on Monday, October 5th.
Sundance Vacations introduced their “School Bucks” program. The program was designed to help Parent Teacher Organizations obtain money for their organization without having to fundraise.
PTO’s in attendance were: Crestwood High School, St. Nicholas Elementary school in Wilkes-Barre, and Lee Park Elementary in Hanover Township. The company held a drawing for all PTO’s in attendance. Sundance Vacations contributed $1000 to Lee Park Elementary-the winning school. Lee Park plans to put the monetary donation towards their school’s annual Santa’s Workshop in December.

Sundance Vacations has approximately 50,000 customers and we’re still counting! The company was founded in 1991 to provide quality vacations at a fraction of the retail rate. Sundance Vacations recently donated school supplies as well as three office desks to John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The supplies donated will benefit students in grades 9-12. The supplies ranged from binders, pen and pencils, notebooks, folders, pencil sharpeners for the classroom, Sharpie markers, etc. In addition to the donation of school supplies, Sundance Vacations employees also donated three office desks to teachers at John Bartram High School. The donations were very much appreciated by the students and teachers alike. “Sundance Vacations understands that a brighter future for Philadelphia starts with the children in our school systems, especially the students at John Bartram High School,” said Assistant VP of Sales Shane Lewis.

Sundance Vacations recently donated a vacation week to the Chicago Better Business Bureau in support of the Chicago BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. The company is honored to support the 13th Annual Torch Awards Program. Sundance Vacations donated a seven night free vacation to one of Sundance Vacations’ numerous resort properties. The Torch Award ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 3rd at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, Chicago. Sundance Vacations has a proud member of the Chicago Better Business Bureau since 2005.

Sundance Vacations will send two fans to a Toby Keith concert on September 17th at Aarons Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
Charles and Mary Reinwald from Hallstead, Pa were randomly picked among hundreds of fans who turned out for the Toby Keith concert at the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Moosic, Pa on September 5th. Sundance Vacations gave away two free VIP tickets to the Toby Keith concert in Atlanta Georgia. Along with the tickets, the company also gave the winners airfare for two, hotel accommodations, and two backstage meet and greet passes pre concert.“We’re very excited for our Toby Keith concert courtesy of Sundance Vacations. I can’t believe we won,” said Mary Reinwald. “If people think this is a scam, they better start believing. I thought I had a snowballs chance, and we won. Sundance Vacations is an outstanding company,” added Charles Reinwald.
The Reinwald’s are huge Toby Keith fans, and sound anxious to attend the concert in Atlanta. Sundance Vacations is proud to send them and we hope they have a great time!

Sundance Vacations gave away a free Las Vegas vacation to one Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers fan during the Conference Semi Finals game against the Kentucky Horseman at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pa on August 8th.
Alice Makowski was randomly picked among hundreds of fans who turned out for the Pioneers Semi Final Playoff game. The free vacation was a fan appreciation giveaway. Sundance Vacations provided the lucky fan and one guest with free airfare for two, room accommodations to The Orleans hotel in Las Vegas, and tickets to the Pioneers game against Spokane Shock. “Oh my God, we’re going to Vegas,” boasted Makowski. “I won the Sundance Vacations free trip to Las Vegas. My dream is really true thanks to Sundance Vacations. I really wanted to see the Pioneers play in the finals,” added Makowski.

Have you ever followed your favorite team into the Playoffs? How far would you go?
Every year right before the annual company picnic, Sundance Vacations holds an essay contest for all employees and their children. This year’s essay topic was “What is your favorite vacation destination?” There were two age groups. The first was age’s 8-13 and the second was age’s 14-college. One winner was picked from each age group and awarded a $500 scholarship. The essays were judged by Sundance Vacations Founder Tina Dowd. A small ceremony was held at the company picnic (Dorney Park in Allentown, Pa) Sundance Vacations VP of Marketing Joe Molitoris announced the winners.
This year, for the age group 8-13 the 2009 winner was Courtney Allen. Courtney is 11years old, and a 6th grade student. Courtney is saving her money for a rainy day. Some of Courtney’s interests include: Drama, Basketball, and has participated in Forensics with her school. Courtney currently made the honor roll for the 08-09 school year. Courtney’s mother Christina Allen is a Manager in the Inbound and Rescheduling Department for Sundance Vacations.
For the 14-college age group, the 2009 winner was Marie Ripa. Marie is a night shift marketer in the Sundance Vacations Mount Carmel office. Marie is 18 years old. She is a student at Brown University. In her spare time Marie enjoys hanging out with friends, reading, playing the violin, and playing on the computer. Marie is very modest about her “hard to beat” bowling skills. She is currently also learning four different languages, Spanish, French, Italian, and Latin.
Sundance Vacations recently partnered up with WVIA, a local public broadcasting station, during their annual TV Auction. Sundance Vacations donated a free week vacation accommodation to Hilton Head, or Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Sundance Vacations employees volunteered at WVIA’s Studio in Pittston, Pa answering phones, while callers placed their bids.
Sundance Vacations participation in the travel auction will help WVIA continue their mission to stimulate, enrich, educate and entertain the community. Hopefully you placed your bid on the vacation package, because bidding ended Saturday, May 2nd. Thank you again to all employees who helped answer phones and to WVIA for continuing to work toward public broadcasting enrichment for the public community.

Robert Janov was randomly picked among hundreds of fans who turned out for Sunday’s “white out” game. The free vacation was a fan appreciation giveaway. Sundance Vacations gave the lucky fan one free week of vacation to the destination of his choice. “I am thrilled. I was just sitting here watching the game, and surprise, I won a free vacation,” said Janov.
