88% of American Workers are Happy With their Jobs

According to a Clarus Poll, a new nationwide poll finds that 88 percent of American workers are happy with their jobs. The survey, conducted by Clarus Research Group, found only 6 percent of workers unhappy with their current employment. Another 6 percent said they were neither happy nor unhappy. “In these tough times of high unemployment and uncertainty, many workers are happy that they have jobs,” said Ron Faucheux, president of Clarus Research Group. “However, despite the nationwide results, there were important differences among population groups, especially based on age, race, education and region.” Age is a major factor, with the youngest and oldest workers a wide 27 points apart. Only 69 percent of workers under the age of 30 are satisfied with their jobs, compared to 96 percent of those 60 and older.

WOW! Not hard to believe. Sundance Vacations participates in the Best Places to Work Program each year, and this year, for the third consecutive year, Sundance Vacations has been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania. Approximately 75% of the total evaluation consists of an employee survey that measures the employee experience. So, Sundance Vacations employees are saying that they love their jobs!

The best part of my job is knowing we are helping people spend time together and giving them a chance to get away from it all and relax!! I also work with really great people!!

As far as the Best Places to Work Program, what is the other 25% based on?

  4. Amanda - September 10th, 2009 at 2:13 pm

    Candy,

The other 25% is based on the first part of the survey process which consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics.

I have to say, the best part of my job is being able to tell everyone that Sundance Vacations is NOT A SCAM!! Another great part is when the company is publicly recognized for all of the great employees and also their great work ethics.

I saw a much worse poll in women’s day that many women view their job as just a pay check. We always encourage employees that if you don’t love what you you, you should do something else. This philosophy has worked. Sundance Vacations employees have once again shown their confidence and pride in their company by voting in the Best places to work survey.

Knowing when I leave for the day, I won’t wake up the next morning saying, ” I wish I did not have to go into work.” I honestly love everything about my job and can’t wait to get in and start. And remember the old saying. If you love what you do you never work a day in yor life.

I also think it’s nice to see Sundance employees and their families showing confindence and pride in their company by proudly wearing their Sundance T-shirts. As I was driving home from work yesterday, I saw Murph’s daughter walking around the neighborhood smiling and proudly showing off her Sundance colors.

I love my job! The best part of my day is seeing all the happy customers leave with their vacation packages that they purchased, and I must agree with Amanda I love to tell people that Sundance Vacations is NOT a scam!

I feel so lucky to work for Sundance Vacations! I’m happy to come to work everyday and help families create life long memories through amazing vacations. Famalies are so happy when they find out the value of our program and realize they can afford vacations for the rest of their lives to places all over the US, Carribean, and Mexico! I love meeting new people and helping them get to their dream vacation…plus getting the post cards when they go!

I definitely fall in the “over 60″ group and it is true that age makes a difference in how you feel about your job. I am a happy camper working at Sundance. The people are great and there’s never a dull moment.

I believe it is very true that you can’t consider a job a career until you are passionate about what you do. I am so passionate about selling vacations and wouldnt want to work for any other company!

the reason we are recognized year in and year out is because sundance isnt just a great place to work its a great way of life. the favorite part of my job is i dont feel like im going to work at all when the end of the night comes i usually dont want to leave i dont know many people that can say that?

When I meet people I’m often asked what I do for a living and my response is always the same… I have the greatest job in the world! I then get that confused puppy dog look with their head tilted to one side as a response. Think about it we go to work and everyone has a smile on their face. We change peoples lives in a positive way.
