I’m sure you’ve been told to give yourself enough time to pack before you plan to depart to your destination. Sundance Vacations offers these five tips to help you decide what you absolutely should pack and how to pack.
1. Snacking is a Way of Life
Delays happen. If you get caught on the runway or on a bus without some tummy tamers, it can be the difference between an awful or a great start to your vacation. Throw some granola bars, chips, or fruit snacks into your bag in case you’re caught in a situation where it may be some time before you get to eat again.
2. There Should Always Be a Plan B
Make sure you have backup plans in case your intended activities get cancelled in an emergency or because inclement weather. You wouldn’t want to go scuba diving during a thunderstorm, so please be sure that you have a full list of activities you want to try, just in case something prevents your vacation from going according to plan.
3. Think Light
Packing light can be a great way to avoid checking bags or clogging up closet space. Make sure you research the weather to make sure that you’ve packed appropriately. Many accommodations also offer laundry facilities, giving you the option to refresh your wardrobe on an extended stay.
4. Bare Necessities
If you do have to check a bag, be sure that you packed all of your important items (toiletries, prescriptions, medications, undergarments, etc.) in your carry on. Accidents happen and bags can be lost or delayed. Don’t get caught without the bare necessities. Pack your key items in a carry-on.
5. Follow the RulesAlways be sure to look into travel customs and airline rules for travel. Make sure you don’t have any illegal items in your bag and that your toiletries are stored properly. If you’re unsure about what is okay in a foreign country, don’t hesitate to contact the customs department for more information. Bon Voyage!
